A Visit to my Antique Shop.

I bought some coins.  Check out what the shop owner wrote on the coin holders.  Apparently I didn't choose coins very wisely.  POOR! On a happy note (even though the POOR is hilarious and I'm not unhappy at all), I managed to find a cool historical piece, an old transit coin.  Ebay says it's worth 1.75...I paid a buck fifty.  I made a 25 cent profit!  Score one for the little guy.

  1. Haha, I like the poor penny too. I think it looks pretty good too! I must remember to bring some change this weekend. There might be some smashed penny machines afoot :) I'm pretty sure if we go to the Omaha zoo or aquarium there will be smashed penny machines.

  2. most of these old coins are worth more for their metal content than anything else...still, I'm holding onto all of my silver ( and copper )... It will all be worth a lot after most is melted down!

  3. When I was in art school we'd go through a ton of copper for intaglio printmaking. People would give me their old copper plates or students would abandon large sheets of copper because they didn't want to haul around large sheets of copper. I have a bunch I need to scrap...I'll never scrap my pennies, though. I have big plans for all my wheat pennies. Big plans.
